Crittenton Women’s Union’s Mobility Mentoring Fiscal Year 2013 Impact Report In Fiscal Year 2013, EMPath made significant advancements in its implementation and refinement of Mobility Mentoring services and in its expansion with partner organizations. This report begins with an overview of Mobility Mentoring activities and outcomes during fiscal year 2013 – addressing who engaged in Mobility Mentoring services, which services they engaged in, and detailing the positive steps they made toward achieving economic self-sufficiency. Beginning on page six of this report, there is an expanded section on the impact of Mobility Mentoring within EMPath’s Career Family Opportunity (CFO) program, currently CUW’s most comprehensive Mobility Mentoring program.

Career Family Opportunity FY 2012 Outcomes Report Career Family Opportunity (CFO) is Crittenton Women’s Union’s (CWU) groundbreaking pilot program that helps single parents achieve economic independence. Supported by the professional practice of Mobility Mentoring™, this innovative five-year initiative partners with program participants to create personalized plans that will lead to a stable future for themselves and their families. This report will highlight the FY 2012 (July 1, 2011 – June 30, 2012) outcomes of the first three years of participants - referred to as Year 4, Year 3 and Year 2 respectively - as they enter the next program year. The report is organized along the five pillars that support CWU’s theory of change, the Bridge to Self Sufficiency™. The five pillars include: Family Stability, Well-Being, Education and Training, Financial Management and Employment and Career Management. CWU’s theory of change asserts that for an individual to become economically independent they must optimize their lives in each of these five critical areas.

Career Family Opportunity: Making Gains along the Journey to Economic Independence The Career Family Opportunity (CFO) program is a pilot initiative designed by Crittenton Women’s Union to promote economic independence in low-income single parents through a comprehensive five year program. Using original tools for self-assessment, goal setting, mentoring, network building, financial incentives and asset development, the program provides a personalized approach to build on strengths and overcome obstacles. Since its inception in June 2009, the CFO program has touched the lives of 46 families through its South Boston and Cambridge sites. Of these 46 families, 13 consider themselves “The Pioneers”, that is, a group of women who enrolled when the program first launched in 2009 and who are still active today. This report details the journey of the “Pioneer” Career Family Organizers (CFOs) during their first two years.
