The LifeWork Project began as a three-year pilot based on EMPath’s Career Family Opportunity (CFO) program and uses the Mobility Mentoring® model and Bridge to Self-Sufficiency®. Since the start of the LifeWork Project, almost half of participants have earned an associate degree and a third of those have continued on to four-year programs. At the end of Year 2, 76% of the women were employed, up from 36% at program entry, and all women have stable housing and health insurance. The success of the pilot has led to the extension of the LifeWork Project into a five-year program.

The ceremony included remarks from several LifeWork graduates, Bristol Community College President Jack Sbrega and a keynote speech by EMPath CFO alumna Ines*. In her speech, Ines shared her story and successes as a participant in EMPath’s CFO program with the graduates and congratulated them on their immense accomplishments.

“Accomplishing these achievements motivates us to continue setting and reaching other goals in the future. The tools, knowledge and networks we have gained from these programs will stay with us forever. They will continue to help us as we strive to accomplish even more.”
