AMP Up Program & Study
The AMP Up study is a free mentoring program for Boston Housing Authority and Cambridge Housing Authority residents.
*Enrollment for AMP Up was completed in December 2023. We are no longer accepting new participants.*
AMP Up is a free three-year program for residents of the Boston Housing Authority and Cambridge Housing Authority and is part of a research study. Participants meet with their mentor regularly to set goals and get support with things like getting a good-paying job and managing their money. Participants can earn up to $700 a year for making progress on their goals. Researchers track information about the participants of the study, whether or not they were admitted to the program, to learn about how the program helps individuals and families achieve economic self-sufficiency.
AMP Up is operated by EMPath with support from the Boston Housing Authority (BHA) and Cambridge Housing Authority (CHA). EMPath is also partnering with lead researcher Lawrence Katz at Harvard University and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). The AMP Up study seeks to understand how EMPath’s economic mentoring program can advance the economic mobility of BHA & CHA residents. To receive AMP Up services, participants have agreed to be a part of the study.
