EMPath’s economic mobility coaching model, called Mobility Mentoring®, is a professional coaching practice where a participant and a mentor work together to set and achieve long-term goals. The approach is based on the idea that scarcity and poverty create chronic stress, which then creates a bandwidth tax, making it difficult to plan for the future.
Over ten years ago, EMPath piloted this 1:1 coaching approach with 20 families in South Boston. Today, over 400,000 individuals have been served with the model.
